Airventure Update

We are working hard on our new display for Airventure.  We will be in the same location as last year in booth 238.

Be sure to  come and see our new products for certified and non-certified aircraft.  In the past LoPresti only produced products for traditional certified aircraft but now we are developing an entire product line targeted at the experimental / custom built / home built markets.

LoPresti Fury
Demo Tour

The Fury is coming to a town near you.  Corkey Fornof is flying the Fury from air show to air show demonstrating the aerobatic talents of the Fury and making customer visits.  The Fury has been a great hit.  Everywhere Corkey goes the Fury is surrounded by eager pilots wanting to know more about the plane.  "Man, every gas stop takes over an hour because I get people coming up and asking questions...It's great man", said Corkey.

LoPresti Fury will be stopping at our LoPresti Partners as Corkey travels the country.  Ask your FBO if they are a LoPresti Partner and find out if Fury is coming to your town. This is a beautiful airplane and you need to see it fly.

Flying The Fury
J.W.”Corkey” Fornof
See the Fury at Waterbury, CT and Addison, TX

With my Aerobatic low level waiver in hand I left Vero Beach headed for Lumberton, NC and the Mid Atlantic EAA Fly-In. The trip was 550 NM and we covered it in two hours and 51 minutes and used 29.7 gallons of fuel. Yep it impressed me. Except for the wild fire smoke in FL we sat in clear skies above beautiful puffy clouds, what a job!

This would be the first aerobatic air show for the Fury and I and we both were looking forward to it—yes the Fury and I talk to each other. Crazy you say?  Well remember I fly through hangars hahaha.

The show is designed to show the performance of the Fury and the ease with which you can do the maneuvers without beating yourself or the airplane up. The max G used during the show is 3 G’s and the occasional 3.5 G when I hit my wake at the bottom of the loop.

The maneuvers I watch when others are flying acro are the point rolls for they really state a pilots skill. During an 8 point roll he has to stop the airplanes roll at every 45*, keep his altitude, line of direction and make the proper control inputs within seconds, hold them and roll to the next point. The Fury does them beautifully and at present we do a 4 and 8 point roll along with a Cuban eight, Reverse eight. Loop, Slow roll, and a Blue Angle/Thunderbird type barrel roll.

Funny, the one everyone likes best is the Knife Edge Pass where you can see YIPPEE! painted on the bottom of the wing. The Lumberton show is great and one for you to make on the East Coast.

The interest in the Fury was fantastic.  After three days of air show it was time to head to Annapolis MD. Where I did an interview about the Fury on a nationally syndicated radio show. The next day it was off to Coatsville, PA. where several people interested in the Fury. Barry Stott and his wife had arranged this stop and I must say they are the most gracious hosts.

I was trying to leave there by 10 AM but didn’t make it out till 2 PM. As I was about to leave a man came up and asked If I could stay till his Boss returned about 1:30 as he had to see the Fury. At 1:30 a Lear 45 pulled up and it was show time again. Now if you think traveling in the Fury is easy, think again. Oh the Flying is great fun but its stopping to get fuel and leave quickly that’s difficult.  I have to plan on at least an hour extra for each stop as it seems people come out of the bushes with Fury questions.

I had been away from home for almost two weeks and now working my way back to Texas with stops in Paducah, KY. And Littlerock, AR. Both were great stops with great interest in the Fury.

In Littlerock the Fury sat in front of the great restaurant at Central Flying Service. I had to smile at the attention it was getting from the people inside and the ones outside. Around the Fury sat GIV’s, Falcon 2000’s, Learjets, Kingairs Barons, Cirruses and others. But on this day the star of the ramp was the LoPresti Fury.

As one Learjet pilot remarked “Now that’s my kind of airplane, wanna trade?”

Taxiing in I had but one thought: "When can I fly it again?"
